CNG is currently recruiting for the position
of Sales Engineer III for California. This is a contract
position leading to full time employment.
POSITION SUMMARY
- Provides consulting and presales technical design, engineering
and implementation support to maximize revenue, earnings
and customer satisfaction.
- The SE III also provides a single
point of reference with regard to the technical design
and specifications for the life of the project, and to
provide
a smooth transition from the sales process into the installation
and maintenance phases.
- Displays expertise in either voice,
data or convergence networking.
- Demonstrates expertise
in either voice, data, convergence or CTI telephony applications
and how they are used in customers’ business.
- Solves
unusual or complex problems where no precedence exists.
- Seeks
to introduce and apply new technologies.
- Expertise in
using economic analysis to compare options and impacts
on customer business requirements.
- Displays excellent
communication skills through reports and presentations.
- Manages multiple
projects with minimum or no supervision.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Displays expertise in some or all
of the following technologies and protocols:
TDM, VoIP, Circuit switching, Packet switching, Routing,
VPNs, LANs, WANs, ISDN-PRI/BRI, X.25, leased lines-T1/56K,
etc. Structured cabling (voice/data/video, fiber, ISDN),
Client/server computing, RIP, RIP-II, OSPF, TCP/IP,
IPX, etc.
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Demonstrated excellence
in cost/benefit analysis
- Excellent customer consulting,
presentation and meeting skills
- Demonstrated negotiation
skills
- Demonstrated abilities to design and analyze communications
systems and networks from multiple manufacturers
such as Nortel Networks, Alcatel, Cisco, etc.
- Capable
of interpreting and using (or possess the ability to
learn) network analysis tools
such
as protocol analyzers,
HP, LAN Analyzer or Network General Sniffer.
- Proficient
in the use of common PC tools for Administration, paperwork,
and inter/intra
office communications
- Ability to deal
with the customer at the middle manager to senior executive
(CEO,
CFO, etc.)
level.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of
voice or data or convergence technologies.
- Possess in-depth
knowledge of competitive products, pricing, and strategy
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science,
a related discipline or equivalent experience.
- A minimum
of 15 years of communications systems and network design
experience. Project management experience or Operations
management experience desirable.
- Excellent written, and
verbal communications skills
