CNG is recruiting for a contract
position in Boston for a network engineer with strong skills
in the
area of WLAN, LAN switching and IP QOS. Our client is testing
and implementing a state of the art PICO Cell system to service
large amounts of WLAN clients within small areas. This position
will be second shift and weekends until the new year and
then will move to normal hours. The position will shift to
a support role as the network matures.
We are looking for
the following skills:
- Very strong understanding of IP and related protocols
within a high redundancy, high availability LAN environment
- Very
strong understanding of IP QOS issues and how it is
deployed within a Nortel environment
- Very strong understanding
and senior level experience architecting, designing, and
deploying WLAN technology from Nortel including
hardware products such as WLAN Mobile Adapters such as
the 2201 and 2202, WLAN Access Points such as the 2220,
2221
and 2225, WLAN Access Ports such as the 2230 and 2231 and
WLAN
Security Switches such as the 2250
- A thorough level of understanding
of 802.11a/b/g, WLAN roaming, and wireless security design
and deployment
- Previous experience with NetIQ Chariot including
stress testing of networks
- A good understanding of PDA’s
and portable computing devices based on Microsoft technology
- A
good understanding of streaming video over WLANs.
